To help kids learn The Baran Method, we use three colors—blue, green, and red. The colors matter for association and recall. The colors become place-holders in the brain and help students understand where their ideas go on the page. And for kids, the colors make learning how to write fun. We suggest every writing assignment be written in blue, green, and red pens, pencils, or font when typing. In certain situations, it’s fine to write with a regular pencil and underline with the three colors.
